“Learning support with Social Media“

On the 3rd November (5.00 - 6.30 pm CET) a webinar on "Learning support with Social Media" was organised. The webinar was led by Steve Wheeler, Associate Professor of learning technology in the Faculty of Health, Education and Society, at Plymouth University.

What was the Webinar about?

Social media are driving and supporting the transition of all sectors of education, and in particular further and adult learning. Social media include blogs, wikis, video and photo sharing sites, Twitter, social networks and social bookmarking. Increasingly, social media are used by teachers and learners to enhance and extend learning. Each tool, when used appropriately, has the potential to support innovation within learning environments.

But how will social media impact the management of the institutions and their training structures? What do social media offer to course managers that will improve the training organization?  How can social media be used by the organization to better guide and support learners through their learning activities? These are questions Steve Wheeler addressed in depth during this interactive online seminar.

The recorded webinar can be accessed here.

Another webinar was organised on "Ensuring high-quality in e-learning 2.0 trainings". Both webinars can also be accessed here.
